He climbed the carriage pedestal to stand tall. Shiva had a presence of mind to realize that superstition can only be countered by another stronger belief. ‘But they are supernatural, blood-thirsty killers! What chance do we have against such evil?’ ‘And there are another five hundred of you. 'But we have a thousand five hundred soldiers,’ said Shiva, upset with the display of such cowardice. The villager standing at the back said, ‘ But they are terrorists! We can not defeat them. ‘We are not scared chicken who should turn and flee! Those terrorists should be on the run.’ At the same time, there was a terrorist attack on the nearby village, the villagers in the verge to save their lives ran to Shiva’s convey and explained the velocity of the attack to Shiva. Shiva along with the Meluhan army was travelling to another town. However, Shiva kept considering himself as an ordinary man and did not take up the responsibility of being the leader of Meluha until the following incident occurred: They believed Shiva possesses divine powers to help the entire nation from all sufferings, more particularly the frequent attacks from terrorists. The Meluhans believe that Shiva is their survivor, their supernatural leader- they call him Neelkanth (God equivalent). Must say he has done a scintillating job. Last week I was rereading the book- ‘Immortals of Meluha.’ Beautifully written book by Amish, walking on the tightropes of writing fiction on God, depicting him has a normal human being.
